Therapy is normally arranged weekly by appointment. The length of contract will be discussed at the initial session. Sometimes referral to another therapist (different form of treatment) is appropriate due to duel relationships (this will be discussed if necessary)
Each session will be an hour session. Starting from the agreed time of the appointment
Material discussed in therapy is generally confidential. (Confidentiality will be discussed further at initial appointment) I may need to break confidentiality if I believe that there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, or in compliance with legal requirements.
As an individual Member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Counselling professionals & Ethical Framework, Good Practice resources and training standards. I am also a registered member of UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and I abide by The Code of Ethics and Professional Practice (2019). I am also a member of the EATA (European Association for Transactional Analysis) and i abide by the Ethical Code.
I have professional executor arrangements to cater for circumstances such as my incapacity: in the rare event that involvements of professional executors is necessary, this will entail disclosure of only the information taken on the intake form (Name, address, contact details and doctor). Such disclosure will be to professional executors whose roles will be limited to informing you of my unforeseen absence from work, although they may also suggest alternative therapists if appropriate.
Payment for each session is required before or at the time of the session. (including initial session). Paid by bank transfer.
My sessional rate is £60 (I do offer a discretionary discount for low income) and trainees
Full payment is required for any sessions missed or cancelled at less than 7 full days notice. (This includes the agreed initial appointment). All outstanding payments must be received before or at the time of the next session
Any breaks, holidays or re-arranged appointments will be given as much notice as possible by both the patient and the therapist
Two sessions notice is expected from both myself and the patient for termination of therapy (unless otherwise agreed or beneficial to the therapeutic work)
Therapy can invoke many emotions in a person. It is the right of the therapist to remain safe at all times and to have her workplace respected
Contact between sessions must be mutually agreed and only for discussion about appointments. (No therapeutic discussions outside of the weekly sessions is permitted)
I may request your doctor's name and contact details. (This is in case of a medical emergency)
